Music therapy and other modalities of musical healing such as sound healing have become increasingly popular, offering individuals with physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs the opportunity to express and heal themselves through sound. When mindfulness and conscious breathing are added to the equation, the healing effects of
music are amplified, particularly since, like breathing, music has a way of bringing us into the present moment, here and now!
We can identify two main ways in which music can have healing properties.
- Singing or playing instruments in a community
setting
- Listening to music and breathing consciously
This workshop will explore the ways in which music can deepen and enhance our breathwork practice individual sessions or in a group setting. The session will include various practices of voice production and a full breathwork session guided by specially prepared music.
