Next two keynote speakers at the GIC2024 (two were announced in our previous newsletter)
It is time to announce two other keynote speakers. We are very honoured that Petri Berndtson (Finland/ Slovenia) and Nikki van der Velden (the Netherlands/ Belgium) accepted our invitation to shine their
light on certain aspects of breathwork.
Petri Berndtson, PhD
"The Phenomenological Philosophy of
Respiratory Diversity"
Petri is a research associate of the Institute for Philosophical and
Religious Studies at the Science and Research Centre Koper, Slovenia. He was invited earlier as a keynote speaker at the GIC in Sweden; however, due to the covid epidemic this GIC was cancelled. In the end, we connected with Petri Berndtson and his philosophical approach to the breath and breathwork via completely other sources.
Petri will talk about the Phenomenological Philosophy of Respiratory
Diversity. What could be the meaning of the respiratory difference between the forgetting to breathe consciously and the cultivation of conscious breathing in philosophy, phenomenology and the world of everyday life? How could the vastness of breathing and breathwork turn our lives in different directions: bodily, aesthetically, ethically, emotionally, intellectually, sexually, politically, economically, ecologically,
religiously, scientifically, philosophically, psychologically, spiritually, etc.? Petri will let shine his philosophical view on this, and more. Find out more on YouTube: Stories of Breath
